About
Syntropium is made by Sunergeo Systems, a small independent software studio. It is designed and built by Shawn Bradley.
It began as a tool for a real place: a farm, a workshop and a house with more things in them than anyone could remember the location of. It grew into something we think other people can use too — anyone whose belongings have spread across rooms, buildings and boxes faster than their memory of where they went.
We are a small team, and we would rather do a few things carefully than many things quickly. That shows up in a few choices we hold to:
- Your catalog belongs on your devices, and works without us.
- When we keep a copy, it is one we cannot read.
- We say plainly what we can and can’t do — including what we can’t recover.
- No advertising, no tracking, and no selling of anything about you.
Growing order from chaos…
That is the line the app carries everywhere, and the ellipsis is on purpose. A household is never finished being organised: things are bought, borrowed, moved and outgrown every week. Syntropium doesn’t promise a finished state. It helps you grow a little more order, a little at a time, and keeps it findable while you do.
The name is from syntropy — the tendency toward order, the opposite of entropy.
